Privacy Policy

We take the protection of your personal data seriously and keep data processing to what is necessary to operate this website. This website does not embed advertising or third-party trackers and does not create cross-site user profiles; apart from one strictly necessary cookie for your language preference (see the “Cookies” section), it does not set any cookies. Below we inform you, in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR, about the processing of personal data.

1. Controller

Enrico Bühler
unom
Schroffenstraße 44
78628 Rottweil
Germany
Email: buehler@unom.io

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as there is no legal obligation to do so.

2. Hosting

This website runs on our own server infrastructure in Germany; we do not commission an external cloud provider for it. The data arising from operation is processed by us (see “Server log files”).

3. Server log files

When you access this website, the server automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits:

  • IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • the page or file requested
  • referrer URL
  • browser type and version
  • operating system used

This data is processed solely to ensure the trouble-free and secure operation of the website and for error analysis. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the technically error-free and secure provision of the website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Log data is stored only for as long as necessary for these purposes and is then deleted. This data is not combined with other data sources.

4. Usage analytics with Plausible Analytics

To analyse the use of this website, we use Plausible Analytics — a privacy-friendly analytics solution that we host ourselves on our own infrastructure (analytics.unom.io). No cookies are set and no information is stored on or read from your device.

Plausible collects aggregated usage data — such as pages visited, referrer, approximate country of origin, device type, browser, and operating system. Your IP address is only processed transiently to derive such information and to count visits; it is not stored. No cross-site or cross-device profiles are created, and no data is shared with third parties. All data remains on our infrastructure.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the use of our offering (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Because Plausible does not set cookies and does not access your device, no consent under § 25 TDDDG is required.

5. Fonts

The fonts used on this website are served from our own server. Your browser does not establish any connection to providers such as Google Fonts, so no personal data is transmitted to such providers.

6. Contacting us by email

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide (in particular your email address, name, and the content of your message) in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to the initiation or performance of a contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in responding to your request (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted once it is no longer required for the purpose, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

7. External links

This website and the documentation link to external services — including our documentation, the source code on git.unom.io, Apple TestFlight, Google Play, and Flatpak. When you follow such links, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply; we have no influence over their data processing.

8. Cookies

This website uses only a single, strictly necessary cookie:

  • PARAGLIDE_LOCALE — stores the language you have selected (German or English). It is set when you switch the language using the language switcher, is a first-party cookie, and has a lifetime of up to 400 days.

This cookie is strictly necessary for the function you requested (displaying the website in your language); storing it is permitted without consent under § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG. The legal basis for the associated processing is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Beyond this, the website sets no cookies; in particular, no analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies are used, and your data is not shared for marketing purposes.

9. Transfers to third countries

The operation of this website does not transfer personal data to countries outside the EU or the EEA. Hosting, analytics, and fonts are all operated on our own infrastructure.

10. Your rights

Within the scope of the applicable law, you have the right at any time to:

  • access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • withdrawal of any consent you have given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)

To exercise your rights, a message to the contact details above is sufficient.

11. Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

Where we process personal data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object to that processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.

12. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de). You may also contact the supervisory authority of your habitual residence.

13. Data security

This website uses TLS encryption (recognisable by “https://” and the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar) to protect the transmission of your data.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We update this Privacy Policy when changes to the website or to the legal situation make it necessary. You can always find the current version on this page.

Effective date: 28 June 2026.
